Contact Us About This FrameOhio Valley Barn Salvage sold The Episcopal Diocese of Cleveland the Lee barn farm dated 1864. The barn measured a full 40’x 62’. It has a rare double stack center bent that had no middle upright post. You had an area 40’ x 32’ that had no upright post in the way. The Ohio Valley Barn Salvage team disassembled the frame in March 2017. It arrived at the Bellweather Farms development in May and covered. This 160 acre retreat is using the barn as an open air worship center. Glass on 1 end of the barn would expose the true beauty of the handhewn frame. This barn was set on a concrete slab that had steel embeds at each upright connecting point. It was an extremely tight jobsite and each bent had to be built individually and set into place. The assembly went smoothly though as we set up each upright and they were bolted in place with field welded ½ galvanized plates. The entire assembly on this particular frame took about 13 days, including installing all the existing rafters. The Episcopal Diocese of Cleveland was very happy with the final results and moved forward with installation of siding and roofing by their own work force.
