Ohio Valley Barn Salvage is pleased to offer for sale our next Historic Repurposed Barn Frame, The Historic Beachy Barn circa late 1820's. This outstanding barn frame is located in Holmes County , the heart of Amish Country. The barn is near the site of the first settler to Holmes County , Jonas Stutzman, who moved to the area in 1809. This Historic barn exemplifies the Dutch style of barn building where interior posts run vertically to the mid rafter plate. The timbers in this barn are massive, measuring 9'' wide x an impressive 15'' deepx16' tall. The barn measures 78' x 42'. The bent section layout is 18'-16'-14'-12'-18'.The main timbers of the barn are spaced at 28' apart with a 6' extension on the bank wall and an 8' extension on the cantilevered wall. This is an original build that is still in outstanding condition. Some original timbers have been removed for the installation of the modern hay rail around the 1850's. This frame can easily be converted to a venue and a great historic repurposed barn home. The bent layout allows for the addition of 2nd story lofts or rooms with minimal structural timbers required. We have plenty of additional photos.
