In November 2025, the OVBS team traveled to Yanceyville, North Carolina to assemble our largest and most ambitious project to date for Todd and Nikki Hodges. This remarkable project brought together three historic Ohio barn frames into a single, unified cattle showroom and equestrian center. The complex includes the Historic Cow Barn (32’ x 75’, circa 1830s), the Historic Gunstock Barn (32’ x 51’, circa early 1840s), and the Historic Ellwood Barn (38’ x 84’, circa 1870s). Todd Hodges, a world cattle breeder, and Nikki Hodges, an accomplished horsewoman, envisioned a space that would seamlessly marry function, history, and craftsmanship. Phase One focused on the assembly of the Historic Cow Barn, featuring a rare clear-span center supported by an equally rare King Strut center upright. During this phase, the OVBS team also assembled one half of the Historic Ellwood frame, tying it into the central common area of the barn complex. After the steel framing for the shared central space was completed, the OVBS team returned to Yanceyville to complete the second half of the Ellwood frame and assemble the Historic Gunstock Barn. The Gunstock frame now serves as the grand entrance, guiding visitors through a remarkable journey of preserved Ohio barn history. OVBS is proud to have partnered with the Hodges family to bring their vision to life, creating a one-of-a-kind cattle showroom and equestrian center built upon the legacy of Ohio’s historic barn frames.
